LJUBLJANA, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- Slovenia will extend temporary border controls with Croatia and Hungary for another six months, until June 21, 2026, the government said on Thursday.
The checks, introduced in October 2023 and set to expire on Dec. 21, are being prolonged due to what authorities describe as a high terrorist threat and ongoing instability around the European Union.
The Interior Ministry said police will continue targeted controls to prevent terrorism, extremism and cross-border crime, while keeping disruption to residents and travelers to a minimum.
Slovenia's measures remain one-directional, covering only entry from Croatia and Hungary. Enditem
