ISLAMABAD, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Thursday that his country is committed to children's individual and collective rights at national as well as international levels.
Pakistan prioritizes child welfare, protection and education, Sharif said in his message on the occasion of World Children's Day.
He said that the future of any nation is deeply linked to the well-being and development of its children, adding that mental and physical growth, safety and quality education remain the foundational pillars of children's rights.
Highlighting the country's efforts in securing children's welfare, the prime minister stated that the government is taking every possible measure to provide educational facilities to children nationwide.
Besides that, he said child nutrition support programs and educational stipends are also being formulated, noting that protecting children from harm is a critical governmental priority.
Sharif also called for effective strategies that are necessary to ensure the fulfillment of children's rights and curb incidents of violence against children. Enditem
