DHAKA, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- For the second consecutive year, Bangladesh's interim government has announced that the country's Victory Day, which falls on Dec. 16, will be observed without a military parade.
However, this year's celebrations would be more extensive in other aspects, Bangladesh's Home Affairs Advisor Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said on Wednesday.
He expressed the hope that the current social stability would continue through the Victory Day observances.
Bangladesh emerged as an independent country on Dec. 16, 1971 after the Pakistani occupation forces surrendered. Enditem
