ABU DHABI, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and South Korea signed here on Tuesday a series of agreements and memoranda of understanding (MOUs) to expand cooperation in advanced technology, space, biohealth, economic governance, and energy, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
The documents were exchanged during an official ceremony at Qasr Al Watan, the UAE's presidential palace, in the presence of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, who is on a state visit to the country.
According to WAM, the two sides placed particular emphasis on artificial intelligence, establishing a strategic artificial intelligence (AI) cooperation framework along with a dedicated MoU to advance joint AI initiatives.
The UAE Space Agency and the Korea AeroSpace Administration also agreed on a new cooperation project to support collaboration in space science, technology, and exploration.
In the economic sphere, the two countries signed an MoU on the administration and operation of the UAE-Korea Economic Cooperation Committee, aimed at strengthening bilateral trade, investment, and industrial coordination.
Cooperation in biohealth was expanded through an MoU covering pharmaceuticals, medical technologies, and regulatory alignment. The two sides also concluded a cooperation arrangement in the field of intellectual property.
In addition, the UAE and South Korea established a new partnership focused on nuclear energy, the integration of AI, and collaboration in global markets. Enditem
