North China's Tianjin municipality has been hit by torrential rain and the local meteorological center has issued a storm warning.

The rain, which began Wednesday evening, hit the northern part of the city the hardest, with 116 millimetres falling. The temperature also dropped by 5 degrees Celsius. It is expected that heavy rain will continue for another 12 hours. The meteorological center has warned relevant departments to take precautionary measures.
