On Aug. 1, China's top seed Chen Yufei defeated the world No. 1 Tai Tzu-ying from Chinese Taipei in the final of the women's singles badminton.
Before making her Olympic debut in Tokyo, the 23-year-old gold medalist had won two bronze medals at the World Championships.
