Zhejiang's Wang Shun closed out the swimming competition at the 15th National Games with a victory in the men's 400m individual medley on Monday, winning in 4:14.90 to claim his 19th National Games gold.
"This competition was very memorable for me," Wang said. "I'm happy to win this precious gold on the last day, not only for myself but for Zhejiang. My physical condition was pushed to the limit, but I'm proud I was able to keep going." He added that he hopes to remain in the sport and continue engaging with international athletes to contribute to China's swimming program.

In the women's 400m individual medley, Hebei's Yu Zidi shone bright, taking first place with a time of 4:34.33. Chang Mohan of Henan and Ke Wenxi of Hubei earned silver and bronze, respectively.
"I'm really happy to win this gold," Yu said. "The National Games went well, but I believe I can do better. For now, I just want to rest."
Veteran swimmers also posted strong results on the final day.
Hubei won the men's 4x100m medley relay in 3:34.39 with Yan Zibei, Wang Zicheng, Sun Jiajun and Xu Haibo. Guangdong took silver and Jiangsu claimed bronze.
"Our goal was to finish strong," said Yan, 30. "This victory is emotional-a mix of happiness and excitement. I'm really satisfied with my splits today and pushed myself to the limit."
In the women's 4x100m medley relay final, Zhejiang's team of Lu Xingchen, Ye Shiwen, Yu Yiting, and Wu Qingfeng won gold with a time of 3:57.97. Shanghai and Jiangsu took silver and bronze, respectively.
"This National Games was all about the women's medley relay," said Ye, 29. "I'm glad I didn't let the team down. This is likely my last National Games. I'll decide next year whether to keep competing. If I have to leave the pool, I'll definitely be reluctant."
Zhejiang's Xu Jiayu won the men's 50m backstroke in 24.40 seconds, with Hubei's Wang Zicheng and Shaanxi's Jiang Chenglin taking silver and bronze.
Shanghai's Tang Qianting won the women's 50m breaststroke in 30.00 seconds, followed by Yang Chang of Shanxi and Hong Kong's Siobhan Haughey.
In the women's 50m freestyle, Zhejiang's Wu Qingfeng touched first in 24.21 seconds. Cheng Yujie of Jiangxi took silver, while Haughey and Zhejiang's Lv Yue shared bronze.
